Prison Tycoon is a strategy game in which you have to build prisons. Moral issues aside, the game proves that building a prison and watch the inmates spend their time is a bit fun. You are given a lot to run your prison. In this lot, you have to build all the facilities that inmates need to do their time. The first thing that the game asks you to build are the cell blocks. That is where the inmates will live. Inside them, you have to put beds. You can choose from a variety of building types and furniture for them.
The inmates will also need food and recreation. Having security is also a good idea and you can increase the security presence by adding towers and more personnel.
When I played the game, I noted that it took a little while for inmates to arrive at my prison. I didn't know whether I was doing something wrong or not, but that time was useful for me to build everything I seemed to need. If you leave the prison unattended for long, your inmates will let you know. After a while, they were fighting and assaulting the officers, which resulted in a lot of injured inmates and a need for a medical facility.
All in all, the game is fun, but a little slow. There are lots of things that you have to do to maintain a successful prison. Income has to come from somewhere and you often put your inmates to work to get the extra money to make it through the month. The graphics are very crappy, but these games are never about flashy graphics.
